Sil-iCon Inflatable Foul Release has 2 layers of protection!

Simply apply 1 or 2 layers of Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE BASE COAT (colours as shown below) to go over most PVC or Hypalon Inflatables (you will need to test the compatibility of your particular Inflatable by purchasing our sampler test kit). Then apply 1 or 2 layers of Sil-iCon's CLEAR COAT hard silicone surface.e applied even days or weeks later. Sil-iCon needs to be left for at least 12 hours for the CLEAR COAT to harden before launching (the longer the better).

Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE BASE COAT: Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE BASE COAT is a tough, durable water-based coating that has been formulated to adhere to flexible surfaces such as vinyl, canvas, rubber, PVC, Hypalon and leather. It flows like an enamel and dries to a full gloss. It maintains its flexibility whilst providing abrasion and chemical resistance. Dries quickly and can be recoated within two hours. Use On interior and exterior flexible surfaces such as tautliners, banners, marquees, tarpaulins, tyre covers, furniture, seats, blinds, Inflatables, luggage, shoes, to name a few. It also has excellent adhesion to cast and calendered vinyl, magnetic sheeting, paper, fabric, glass, ceramics and suitably primed rigid surfaces. Although testing has shown that Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE BASE COAT has excellent adhesion to many flexible and rigid surfaces, it is recommended to check adhesion on all materials before using. It is not suitable for corflute, polypropylene, polyethylene or acrylic surfaces.

Surface Preparation: The surface must be free of dirt, grease and surface plastisizer. Wash the surface with a detergent (eg Dissol) to remove dirt, grease and oil. On glossy surfaces, lightly rub the surface with a grey Scotch-Brite pad to dull the surface. Then finally clean with methylated spirits.

Application: Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE BASE COAT is a low-viscosity paint and can be applied with a brush, roller or spray. Thoroughly stir the paint before using. Brush and Roller – It has similar application properties to enamel paint and if applied too heavily, the product will sag. Two thin coats are recommended for coverage and durability. Spray – It has excellent spraying properties with conventional or HVLP equipment Type: Conventional Air Fluid Tip: 2.0 mm Air pressure: 280 – 420 KPa (40 – 60 psi) Apply a light mist coat, allowing a 5-minute flash-off time followed by one or two medium coats. Allow at least one hour between coats. Drying: Do not apply in cold, damp conditions or if the temperature is below 10 °C. Under normal drying conditions (above 15°C and low humidity), the paint will be surface dry within 20 minutes and can be recoated after one hour(min). In very hot weather, to slow the drying, add water-based acrylic retarder.

Cleaning and Thinning: If thinning is required, use water. Clean spray equipment with water or methylated spirits. Sheen Level: This product dries to a gloss finish. Coverage: For estimating, allow 16 square metres per litre per coat

Pack Size: 1 litre plastic Jerry cans (500ml and 4 ltr sizes to be added in future)

Colours: Standard range and customer matching. As the substrates that are used and the methods and conditions of application of this product are beyond the control of Sil-iCon, it is recommended that the customer tests the product for their own particular application.

Sil-iCon CLEAR COAT: Sil-iCon's CLEAR COAT is a water-based silicone paint, chemically designed to adhere to the FLEXIBLE BASE COAT. The same product is used on Sil-iCon Foul Release and PurrProp propeller coating.

Application: After the Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE BASE COAT has dried, apply a smooth and glossy coat of CLEAR COAT with a fine brush (available from AA Gilberts). Sold in 1 ltr plastic Jerry cans

Coverage for both Sil-iCon CLEAR COAT is 10 - 12 sq.m / ltr

Launching your Inflatable

A feature of Sil-iCon FLEXIBLE Foul Release, is that the inflatable can be launched and retrieved continually at any time without recoating and the coating can last for many years.

Please NOTE: Sil-iCone FLEXIBLE BASE COAT & CLEAR COAT are both classed for transport as NON Dangerous Goods and are sent via Australia Post Road freight at the same cost as normal freight.

This product is currently sold in a BETA version, and sales are made strictly on a trial-only basis. Once BETA is removed, prices will be adjusted to reflect a retail/commercial product.
