Plastinum Hydro Epoxy
Hydro Epoxy is a premium, hydrophilic, 100% solids epoxy designed for structural repairs in wet, submerged, and potable water environments. Where conventional epoxies fail, Hydro Epoxy delivers unmatched adhesion, strength, and durability.
Hydro Epoxy is a hydrophilic epoxy, which is a type of epoxy resin chemically designed to have a high affinity for water, allowing it to bond tenaciously to damp, wet, or even fully submerged substrates. While many traditional epoxies are hydrophobic (water-repelling) and will fail if moisture is present during application, Hydro Epoxy, being a hydrophilic version, actively displaces water from the surface at a microscopic level to create a powerful chemical bond
Certified to AS/NZS 4020:2018 for contact with drinking water, it is ideal for critical infrastructure and aggressive environments, including sewage and treatment plants.
· Bonds to wet, as well as damp substrates
· Compressive strength up to 120 MPa
· Permanent structural adhesion to concrete, steel and timber
· Low viscosity for deep penetration into cracks and voids
· Resistant to chemicals and hydrogen sulphide
· Ultra-low VOC formulation
· Easy 3:1 mix ratio
· Concrete crack repair and injection
· Underwater and splash zone repairs
· New-to-old concrete bonding
· Steel anchoring and grouting
· Floor and surface repairs - Timber laminating in Boatbuilding and Marine Work
· Epoxy mortars and grouts
Mix Ratio: 3:1 (Part A : Part B)
Work Time (25°C): 30 minutes
Cure Times:
· 12 hours @ 35°C
· 24 hours @ 25°C
· 48 hours @ 15°C
Thin Film Cure: 5–6 hours
Minimum Application Temperature: 10°C
If wanting to laminate over the top of Hydro Epoxy with a faster epoxy (like Platinum Marine Epoxy), abrade the surface with 80 grit, wipe down with Acetone, and then laminate in the usual way.
· Compressive Strength: Up to 120 MPa
· Tensile Strength: 57 MPa
· Flexural Strength: 59 MPa
· Bond Strength to Concrete: >3 MPa
· Steel Bond Strength: 18 MPa
· Hardness: ≥ 75 Shore D
Hydro Epoxy can be modified to create:
· Pourable epoxy grouts
· Trowelable repair mortars
· High-strength compounds when mixed with various fillers (Aerosil, Q Cells, Micro Balloons, etc)
· Epoxy concrete systems
Ideal for use in:
· Water treatment facilities
· Marine applications and coastal structures
· Industrial repair applications
· Sewer and wastewater systems
Available in 1 Ltr, 4 Ltr and 20 Ltr kits.

I recently purchased your Ultra Clear resin for a bench top renovation. We live in a very dated house and decided to update the kitchen, but we are on a budget.
Great resin, quick delivery. Made a new top for my dinning table that was looking old. Happy with the ocean inspired look!
Great products. Delivered to your door within the time stated. Just ordered another lot!
